Technical Report February 2012
John Deunay, CPD
Interim VP Technical

Our thanks go out to Mr. Bob Guenther for his presentation on the “Significant Changes to the 2012 International Me-chanical and Fuel Gas Code Changes”. It was a great meet-ing with lots of questions and interactions with several of the other ICC members that showed to support Mr. Guen-ther. We are looking forward to getting Lee Clifton sched-uled to cover the “Significant Changes to the 2012 Interna-tional Plumbing Codes” some time this season.

Our February Technical Meeting presenters will be Gregg Vlahakis (National Technical Representative, The Viking Corporation) and David Olds (US 3M sales representative for Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid) covering “Presentation on Pre-action and Clean Agent Systems”.

For our March Technical Meeting we will have John Clark (Territory Manager Green Turtle Americas) covering "Impact of Fats, Oil and Grease on the Sanitary Collection Systems and Clean Water Act".

On a personal note, I have decided to resign my post as In-terim VP Technical, Juan Contreras, JBA Consulting Engi-neers has agreed to fill this position until the May 2012 meeting. I will still remain active with the OC Chapter as the Board of Governors Chairman. I have asked the OC Board of Director to hold a Special Election to nominate Don Strickland, CPD for the position of Chapter President and Juan Contreras for the position of VP Technical at the May 2012 Technical Meeting. Any member who is interest-ed in running for either of these two positions may do so at the meeting or by contacting me or any of the members of the Board of Directors prior to the May meeting.

As always we appreciate your input and feedback on possible topics for our monthly technical meetings.

I hope to see everyone at this month’s meeting!

Respectfully submitted,
John Deunay, CPD
Interim VP Technical
